Return to Natural Walking
Your feet don't have to be confined to narrow molds. These shoes are designed to adapt to the natural movement pattern humans have walked with for thousands of years. Thanks to the wide toe box, flexible leather sole, and entirely natural materials, your feet move freely. Many people feel the difference from the very first step.

Why Does This Shoe Look Different?
At first glance, this shoe may look different from many other shoes. Its wide toe box, thin sole, and lightweight construction catch most people's attention. This difference is not a design trend, but the result of a design philosophy that respects the natural structure of the foot. Most modern shoes have a narrow toe box due to aesthetic concerns. This can cause the toes to be cramped and, over time, distort the foot's natural shape. This shoe, however, features a wide toe box to allow the toes to spread naturally. The toes are not cramped, the foot presses more evenly against the ground, and a more natural movement occurs while walking. The thin and flexible sole is also a conscious choice. Thick synthetic soles completely isolate the foot from the ground. In contrast, a thin and flexible sole allows the foot to feel the ground and provides more natural feedback while walking.
The lightweight construction also helps reduce foot fatigue throughout the day. Many people notice that the shoes are lighter than expected when they first put them on.
In short, these shoes look different because they are designed according to the natural anatomy of the foot. This design may seem unusual at first glance. However, after using them for a few days, many people realize the following fact: It is not these shoes that are different, but the narrow and stiff shoes we have been wearing for years.

Handmade, Genuine Leather
These shoes are handmade by skilled craftsmen in Turkey. They are made entirely from natural leather, including the sole, and mold to the shape of your foot over time. The sole of the shoe uses rare recycled buffalo leather. The copper capsule inside the sole is positioned to correspond to the K1 point and is used to support the grounding effect.
The breathable structure of genuine leather significantly reduces foot perspiration during the summer months. Reduced perspiration can help minimize common foot problems such as foot odor, itching, and eczema.
These shoes are designed to be worn without socks as standard.
Although it may seem like a simple idea, these shoes have been produced with similar materials for centuries and have continued to be used for generations.

700 Years of Heritage
Gaziantep, a city with a population of approximately 2 million in southeastern Turkey, is the birthplace of these shoes. This type of shoe first appeared around 700 years ago and has been produced ever since. The people of Gaziantep have made it a tradition to wear these handmade shoes while walking on the streets in summer and indoors or in closed spaces in winter. The EdeBarefoot brand has made it its mission to bring this deep-rooted tradition to people living in different countries around the world through digital platforms.

Barefoot Philosophy
The human foot is a complex structure involving dozens of muscles and joints working together. Most modern shoes restrict this natural system with narrow molds and thick soles. Barefoot design does the opposite. Instead of forcing the foot, the shoe adapts to the foot's natural movement.
Toes spread naturally.
Muscles remain active.
Walking feels more balanced and natural.
Many people say that after experiencing this freedom, they find it difficult to go back to their old shoes.
What Do People Notice Most After Wearing These Shoes?
Many people who wear these shoes for the first time notice similar things. These differences may seem minor, but they can significantly change the daily walking experience. The first thing people usually notice is that their toes feel more comfortable. Thanks to the wide toe box, toes are not cramped and can move naturally. Many people are also surprised by how light the shoes are. For those accustomed to thick, heavy-soled shoes, this difference is especially noticeable when walking. Another noteworthy point is the flexibility of the sole. The shoe adapts to the foot's movement while walking. Instead of a rigid structure, a natural structure that follows movement is created. Some users notice that their walking style begins to change over time. The foot lands more evenly on the ground, and steps feel more natural. These changes sometimes appear within a few days, sometimes within a few weeks. However, after using them for a while, many people say:
“My old shoes feel strange now.”
Because once the foot feels natural freedom of movement, tight and stiff shoes really start to feel different.

First Walking Experience
Many people feel the difference from the very first step. Your toes move freely. The shoe's lightweight construction reduces the feeling of weight on your feet. Thanks to the zero-drop design, your feet strike the ground more naturally and your body balance improves.
You may notice that your feet stay drier and cooler, especially in summer. After a while, you'll feel that the shoe isn't controlling your foot, but rather your foot is guiding its movement. This small difference can completely transform your daily walking experience.
Buffalo Leather Sole
The sole of the shoe is made from buffalo leather, a traditional material. Buffalo leather is an extremely durable material thanks to its dense fiber structure. It is not very soft at first; however, over time it adapts to the movement of the foot and almost learns your walking style. A pattern is applied to the outer surface of the sole using a hot press method. This process is done to increase traction.
Grounding and Copper Rivets
Numerous studies show that contact with natural soil can have positive effects on the body. The earth can be thought of as a large energy source, and contact with its surface can support the body's natural balance. This process is called grounding. The buffalo leather sole alone provides a natural feeling of contact. To enhance this effect, a copper rivet is placed at the K1 point on the sole of the shoe. Copper is a highly conductive material and is preferred to support the grounding effect. The copper rivet and natural leather sole used in these shoes help create a more natural feeling of contact with the ground.
All Genuine Leather
Both the sole and upper (top part) of the shoe are made of genuine leather. This feature is an important difference that sets the shoe apart from many modern shoes made from petroleum-derived synthetic materials. As genuine leather is used, a patina forms on its surface. These changes show that the leather is alive and gains character over time.
Each pair of shoes acquires a look unique to its owner over time.
Gaziantep Masters
These shoes are produced in Gaziantep and shipped to your address with fast delivery.
In the workshops, masters still work using traditional methods. The leather is cut by hand, the pieces are assembled one by one, and each pair of shoes passes through the hands of the masters.
Mass production is speed-oriented.
Craftsmanship requires patience.
The creation of a pair of shoes involves several basic steps:
The leather is selected.
The pieces are cut.
The shoe is shaped.
The sole is attached.
The iconic stitching is applied.
The copper rivets are placed.
Final checks are performed.
The shoes are then packaged and handed over to the shipping agent.

Care and Usage Recommendations
Natural leather can be used for many years with simple care. If dust or mud gets on it, simply wipe it clean with a soft, slightly damp cloth. We do not recommend using paint or chemical care products. If you wish, you can soften the leather with almond oil.
We do not recommend exposing these shoes to heavy water contact. However, if they do get completely wet, you can put them on while damp and let them dry that way.
If you dry the shoes in direct sunlight, the leather may shrink and the size may decrease.
