This pair

Boot in Earth crazy leather. Wide toe box, zero drop, buffalo leather sole with a copper rivet. Made after it is ordered, in Gaziantep.

Fit. Lace-up with a side zip. You measure once; we pick the size. The shoe is cut 4 mm longer and 2 mm wider than your foot.

Leather. Crazy: waxed, matte, keeps marks that rub back with a thumb. Gives about 2 mm in the first week. Earth is a dark chocolate brown; each hide differs a little. A-grade cow leather.

Sole. Buffalo leather, 5–8 mm, flexible, no heel. Hot-stamped for grip, with one copper rivet under the front of the foot. Not for rain; if wet, wear it while it dries.

    These are the first Turkish style boots I’ve owned. They’re the most comfortable shoes I’ve ever worn, and especially once they’re broken in. I decided to order another pair because my first pair were getting worn out. They’re my ONLY pair of shoes, and I’ve worn them daily for work, while doing lots of digging and landscaping, hiking, hardy activities — which I’m pretty sure they weren’t designed for. They’ve held up very well considering the level of intense situations they were used for, and the lack of any conditioning or care that I did for the leather. Even months later I still had people stopping me and asking me where I got them. It’s rare to see anyone wear this type of shoe in the US. But people loved them. I got lots of compliments. Easily my favorite pair of shoes/boots in my life, and I will surely buy more of them.

    These are beautiful, well crafted boots, made with care! They were made and shipped to me swiftly. And, I was lucky that they made it through customs quickly... Which is something this artisan clearly has no control over. I have noticed that when I wear the leather earthing boots for my morning chores, my knees are happy and feel good, even after several hours of working. When I wear my rubber rain boots, my knees are aching by the time I am finished, and I feel more tired. I look forward to many years of feeling the earth, while my feet are protected with natural materials!
